From Uprising to Democratic Transition

United4Mahsa began as a response to the killing of Jina (Mahsa) Amini and the women-led uprising that followed across Iran and the diaspora. What started as a cry against compulsory hijab and state violence became a broader national demand for dignity, freedom, and an end to the Islamic Republic.

That origin still defines us. We remain rooted in the courage of Iranian women, students, workers, families, and political prisoners who transformed grief into a movement for national change.

What We Stand For Now

Solidarity remains essential, but solidarity alone is no longer enough. The question facing Iran is not only how to resist the regime, but how to prepare for what comes after it.

  • A secular and democratic state where religion is separated from government and power belongs to the people.

  • Equal citizenship for women and men, and full protection for ethnic, religious, and political minorities.

  • Rule of law, accountable institutions, and national sovereignty free from the coercive machinery of the Islamic Republic.

  • An orderly transition that protects civilians, preserves essential services, and prevents chaos on the day after the regime.

From resistance to transition

The movement for a free Iran has entered a new political phase. United4Mahsa now focuses not only on bearing witness to injustice, but on supporting the case for democratic transition, international understanding, and practical preparation for a post-Islamic Republic future.

That means amplifying Iranian voices, supporting public education, strengthening diaspora coordination, and making clear that regime change must lead to legitimacy, stability, and free political choice.
